Can you tell us more about what you do?

I work as a Senior Analyst in Mergers and Acquisition tax, with clients who want to buy or sell a business. For a buyer, we do due diligence on the company that they want to buy, as well as structuring the deal to make sure the company fits into their structure effectively. For a seller, we do diligence on their company to make sure they will get a fair price when it goes to market. We help to project manage the transaction process and act as the point of contact for the lawyers and buyers in some cases.

What do you enjoy most about working with your team?

The best thing about working with my team is the people themselves. I really appreciate the fact that everyone is sociable, friendly, and no matter how senior, very approachable. Everyone helps each other out as best they can, and we try to make the environment a great place for learning. I joined during the pandemic and I would say the proudest moment was when we all finally got to meet each other at a face-to-face work social.

How have you grown since joining Deloitte?

I have grown a lot whilst working at Deloitte. There is a particular focus on deployment here, from making feedback part of our culture to ensuring a high quality of learning. We also have to sit professional qualifications, which means that we develop ourselves alongside our learning on the job.

What does your office do?

Cambridge itself is a centre for innovation in the UK, from the university to the business community. The Cambridge office has a diverse range of specialisms, including life sciences to technology. We run the Life Science Catalyst for our clients, and we also focus on commercialisation, strategy and consulting. We work nationally across the regions and with the London office on many large-scale projects and clients, as well as closely with other Deloitte tax and finance teams. I really enjoy having such a wonderful close-knit team with a great culture and fun socials.

What do you enjoy in your spare time?

In my spare time I love to read, paint and travel as much as I can. I also like going out in London to explore museums, galleries and meet with friends.
