What is your role and when did you start?

I joined in September 2017 through the BrightStart programme working in Digital Finance Technology, which sits within Deloitte Consulting.

What is your academic background like?

Before joining Deloitte’s BrightStart scheme I studied Economics, Mathematics and Geography at Bournemouth Grammar School.

What made you pursue a career in your field?

Whilst looking at different universities to study Economics at, Deloitte’s BrightStart scheme caught my attention. The opportunity to work at the largest of the Big 4 firms straight out of school really appealed to me.

I could also see this would give me the chance to do things I wouldn’t be able to at university. Working here allows me to combine my interest in finance with the ability to get hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology on financial transformation projects.

What do you enjoy most about working for Deloitte?

The thing I love most is the potential to work anywhere in the world, with all kinds of different types of client, ranging from start-ups to the biggest companies in the world. I also think it’s great being able to meet so many people with different cultures and experiences.

What do you like to do away from work?

I love to play and watch sport. Having a kick-around playing five-a-side with mates in the evenings is a great way to take my mind off work. I also make an effort to travel in my time off, jetting off for short city breaks around Europe.
