Sadik’s role as an Analyst in our Legal team, puts him right in the middle of our Global Management Office. This allows him to connect with people around the world and make a real impact.
What’s a typical day like for you?
No two days are the same so there isn’t really a typical day. That’s why I thoroughly enjoy my role at Deloitte. I might be updating my client on the immigration status of their employees, or dealing with various data reports that they have asked for such as work in progress updates or immigration expiration reports. Because I work in the Global Management Office I often have calls with colleagues across the world – Canada or Singapore for example. I also collaborate with different departments across the business - I often work with the tech team to help make processes more efficient, and the legal team to ensure that my clients remain compliant with all legal requirements. I feel like I am involved in all sorts of different things so I’m never bored, and am constantly learning which is brilliant.
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting and speaking with people from all over the world. Whether it is the clients that we service, or the international Deloitte network that we collaborate with. I have connected with people from all different backgrounds and find that fascinating.
And do you have a particular career highlight so far?
I’m really proud of a transition project I worked on. It was for a major corporate client spanning over 28 jurisdictions. It was a new client for us and I was significantly involved in transitioning data and documentation as well as creating new processes for them. I helped adapt technology used by the Tax team too.
Another highlight for me was being promoted after only being here for 8 months. It was very encouraging to see my efforts and role in the team recognized. I was given a lot of responsibility at a very junior level – sent to meetings in Europe, trusted to own the relationship with clients. At Deloitte, people are definitely judged on merit and not their job title.
Are you supported to work flexibly?
Absolutely. I work from home once a week. I’m currently studying for a Masters so the flexibility to work from home and save time on travelling is great. I’ve also been supported with study leave so that makes juggling it all a bit easier.
