What are you responsible for in your role?

This changes from project to project but my client responsibilities range from process design to number crunching. Outside of client work, I update the Actuarial Team on insurance regulatory developments and assist with internal strategy calls between different Deloitte offices in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

What’s a typical day like for you?

This depends what project I’m working on. I’ve been working on the implementation of new regulation lately, which is exciting due to the size and speed of the project.

Recently my days start with a project-wide catch up meeting. As my team is responsible for ensuring Deloitte’s models function as expected, communication between all the teams involved is paramount.

We check the models’ approaches and outputs against our agreed methodology and independent calculations. We then discuss our findings with the modelling and methodology teams. We don’t always agree on everything, but we usually find a resolution that’s in the best interests of everyone involved.

Why would you recommend Deloitte to someone?

I like working here because it gives me the opportunity to work alongside lots of fun, intelligent and supportive people. Working here gives you the opportunities that come with being part of a big company, but you also get the close-knit, personal feel of a small team.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I’m a bit of an equestrian at heart. I enjoy going horse riding whenever I get chance. I also like travelling and exploring new places. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to combine the two soon!
